2024 Corales Puntacana Championship Trends
Winning Score
Five of the six PGA Tour events have been won with a score between 17 and 19 under par. Joel Dahmen won in 2021 with a score of twelve under par in a particularly windy week.
Course Form
The past two winners, Matt Wallace and Chad Ramey, won on their event debuts. Joel Dahmen had posted top 20 finishes in 2019 and 2018 when winning in 2020. The three champions before Dahmen had all played at Puntacana prior to their win but all three missed the cut the year immediately before their win. Course form is preferred but definitely not essential.
Recent Form
Matt Wallace triumphed last year having finished 7th at the Valspar Championship the week before. However, none of the last five champions before him had recorded a top 30 finish in their last start prior to their win. Joel Dahmen, Graeme McDowell and Brice Garnett had all failed to record a top 10 that year prior to winning.
World Ranking
The world ranking of the past six champions has been 175-203-79-341-257-211.
Nationality
In the six years this event has been played on the PGA Tour, four of the winners have been American.
Age
The age of the winners has been 32, 29, 33, 32, 39 and 34. Graeme McDowell's win in 2019 is very much the outlier and winners have generally been in their early to mid 30s.
PGA Tour wins
Four of the six winners of this event were winning on the PGA Tour for the first time.

2024 Corales Puntacana Championship In Play Advice
Tough Holes
The 11th, 5th and 2nd play as the hardest but the wind direction and strength will often determine which holes are hardest.
Birdie Holes
The four par 5s rank as four of the five easiest holes. The par 4 3rd hole ranks as amongst the easiest also.
Closing Stretch
16-18 are known as The Devil's Elbow and play slightly over par.
Fast or Slow Start
2020 and 2018 champions, Hudson Swafford and Brice Garnett, both led after the opening round. Winner in 2022, Chad Ramey, was four shots behind whilst 2021 and 2023 champions, Joel Dahmen and Matt Wallace, were one shot off the pace after round one. History suggests it is important to get off to a fast start.
Leaders after round three have a reasonable record here. Both McDowell and Garnett converted from in front and Dominic Bozzelli won when joint leader in 2016 on the web.com Tour (now Korn Ferry Tour). Chad Ramey won from two behind in 2022. Matt Wallace won from from one shot back in 2023.
Each of the last seven course winners have been inside the top 10 at halfway.

2024 Corales Puntacana Championship Round 3 Conditions
Breezy conditions once again with the wind the main course defence.
2024 Corales Puntacana Championship Round 4 Weather Bias?
Light rain is forecast throughout the day with the wind set to blow 9-13mph throughout.
Round 4 Outright Market Summary
Wes Bryan is the 11/4 favourite to go wire to wire and claim his second PGA Tour victory. A birdie at the last ensured the 34 year old retained a one shot lead after a scrappy round that contained five bogeys and seven birdies.
Bryan won the 2017 RBC Heritage but has only had one top ten finish between 2018 and today and hasn't been in serious contention for a win since that event. Contention rust is sure to be a factor for the leader and whilst he has shown himself to be a reasonable closer in the past (he won three times on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2016), he hasn't been in this position for a while now.
Three of the seven winners of this event had led going into the final round but we could well see another winner from off the pace.

2024 Corales Puntacana Championship Round 2 Conditions
Scoreable conditions with a gentle breeze that was slightly stronger in the afternoon.
2024 Corales Puntacana Championship Round 3 Weather Bias?
No, the wind will be a consistent 12-15mph with gusts slightly stronger.
Round 3 Outright Market Summary
Justin Lower has taken over at the front of the betting after a round of 64 brought him within a shot of the leader, Wes Bryan.
Lower spoke confidently after his round yesterday and the stats suggest he is playing well enough to win. However, he is yet to win as a professional in over 190 starts and how he handles the pressure of being in this position remains to be seen. We'd rather be layer than a backer at the current odds.
Each of the last seven winners of this event have been inside the top ten at this point of the tournament so we aren't looking further back than those players at nine under par to find a winner.

2024 Corales Puntacana Championship Round 1 Conditions
Scoreable conditions with a gentle breeze that was slightly stronger in the afternoon.
2024 Corales Puntacana Championship Round 2 Weather Bias?
There is a possible rain shower in the morning but the wind is once again expected to be moderate, albeit slightly stronger in the afternoon.
Round 2 Outright Market Summary
Eight birdies and an eagle allowed Wes Bryan to open up a three shot lead after round one of the Corales Puntacana Championship. However, that lead is only enough to see Bryan as 14/1 second favourite, with Billy Horschel at the head of the market at 10/1.
Horschel has posted some eye catching results of late, recording three top 12 finishes in his last five starts. As a proven winner on the PGA Tour, he is the rightful favourite.
We aren't looking too far down the leaderboard given winners of this event have historically got off to a fast start.
Eye Catching Niche Market Prices - Corales Puntacana Championship
Jonathan Byrd (-2) to beat Garrick Higgo (0) and Bryan Stuard (-2) - 5/4 @ Bet365
Stuard and Byrd won this three ball yesterday without any handicap with a score of one under par but it is course specialist Byrd who looks worth backing at 5/4 today in Bet365's three ball handicap market. Byrd has made the cut on each of his seven starts in this event, including a 4th place finish in 2018. Brian Stuard is considered past his best and whilst Higgo is respected, Byrd is a solid operator who should have enough to win this one with a two shot advantage over his younger opponent.
