2023 LIV Golf Singapore Round 2 Summary
Talor Gooch has been joined at the top by Sergio Garcia on a day with little breeze and lift, clean and placing on the fairways. Scoring was understandably low.
Notable LIV Golf Singapore Round 2 Quotes
"I mean, nothing can replace experience. So the more that I can put myself in this position, the more comfortable I'm going to get. Sergio and I talked about it. We have been paired together a bunch here in the last year, and it was fun out there playing with Sergio, and the more you play with these guys and the more you feel like you can compete and beat these guys, the more comfortable you're going to get." Talor Gooch
"Obviously some of the memories (winning the Singapore Open) definitely help. But at the end of the day, I think that every tournament is a different story. The course is playing similar to when we played it here on the Singapore Open, but maybe a little bit longer, a couple tees that we didn't use there." Sergio Garcia
"Obviously I love playing at Sentosa. We come here on the Asian Tour quite regularly. So it's nice to play this event a different time of year where you've got a few events under your belt for the year. So, yeah, always fun coming back. And I know the course pretty well, so that always helps. Yeah, it's just -- for me, patience is something that I can control, so those are the things that I try and focus on. The results and the scores, you can't always control what's going to happen out there, so just trying to keep it simple and do the things that I can control." Scott Vincent
2023 LIV Golf Singapore Round 3 Weather
Possible thunderstorm and light winds. Wind 5-8mph.
Back or Lay The Favourite?
Talor Gooch is the 9/4 favourite but we're more than happy to take on last week's champion. There's no doubt winning breeds confidence but Gooch was far from convincing in last week's final round in Australia and he's show before that he's vulnerable in contention.
Gooch failed to convert leads at LIV Mayakoba and LIV Boston and had a slight wobble when trying to convert a ten shot lead in Adelaide. He's too short in the betting in our opinion.
In-play LIV Golf Singapore Bets We Considered
We advised Sergio Garcia to subscribers before the event began at 25/1 and the Spaniard is now 3/1 second favourite. With Garcia already in the staking plan, we discussed the possibility of backing Brooks Koepka at 10/3. However, the players at ten and eleven under par are still very much in this event and they made slightly more appeal.
If you aren't already on Garcia, we certainly wouldn't put you off a bet on him in the outright market. A course winner, having won the Singapore Open at Sentosa, he's played really well over the opening two days. He hit all 18 greens in regulation in round two and only missed three in round one. We expect him to go close to his first LIV win tomorrow.
Those of you in the UK have access to the additional markets offered by Bet365. If that's a route open to you, we strongly considered a bet on Phil Mickelson in the 'Without Brooks Koepka and Cameron Smith' market. The veteran is available at 16/1 and made some appeal as a hedge against Garcia. However, we're happy to cheer on Garcia.

2023 LIV Golf Singapore Round 1 Summary
Talor Gooch leads after round one for two weeks running but he has a strong chasing pack in the shape of Cameron Smith, Brooks Koepka and co.
Notable LIV Golf Singapore Round 1 Quotes
"It's just the game comes and goes in waves, and hopefully we can continue to ride this wave for as long as we can and play a bunch of good golf.." Talor Gooch
"My game has been feeling good. I've been trending nicely. Played well last week. The state of my game is good, but as far as being a course that really fits my eye, I wouldn't say this is it." Cameron Tringale
2023 LIV Golf Singapore Round 2 Weather
Thundery showers and light winds. Wind 5-8mph.
Back or Lay The Favourite?
There isn't much to separate Cameron Smith, Talor Gooch and Brooks Koepka in the betting and there is good reason for those chasing a big price winner this week to fear the favourites. Gooch is riding a wave of confidence right now whilst Smith has been showing a return to form. However, it's Koepka that looked the sharpest this morning and he looks the value at 5/1.
In-Play LIV Golf Singapore Bets We Considered
We have to be cautious in the outright market given the strengths of the leaders. For those looking to pick one of the leaders, Koepka is the standout pick in our eyes. He looks back to the sharpness he displayed at the Masters and will be hoping for a similar preparation for the PGA in a couple of weeks. There is one price we prefer value wise.
Round 2 Bet
- 1.5pts Each Way Patrick Reed 25/1 @ Bet365 (1/5 1-4)
Reed is three behind leader Gooch but finished his round superbly with four birdies on the trot after the break. The only surprise was that he didn't start well given his current form of 3-4-3 including the Masters. He is clearly a player full of confidence right now and given he is as well travelled as most American golfers out there, a win in Singapore would be no surprise. Only three shots back, he looks far too big at 25/1 with two rounds to go.
