Victor Perez claimed his maiden European Tour title at the 2019 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. This win took him into the world's top 100 for the first time and ignited a run of form which included a 4th at WGC – HSBC Invitational and 2nd places at the Turkish Airways Open in 2019.
We saw further progress from Victor in 2020 as he notched runner up finishes at two Rolex events on the European Tour, the Abu Dhabi Championship and BMW PGA Championship.
2019 was his debut season on the European Tour after he had finished 3rd in the Challenge Tour Order of Merit in 2018, including a win at the Foshan Open in China. He also had a Challenge Tour win at the 2017 Challenge de Espana.
Victor is an extremely solid golfer with no clear weaknesses and once he has gained more experience on tour he could go onto a be a major winner in future. He can be supported in high class European Tour fields.
He lives in Dundee, Scotland, (his girlfriend is from there) so he gets a lot of opportunity to practice links golf in non-tournament weeks. This wasn't common knowledge before his win at Alfred Dunhill Links but it's noted now and he can be supported in links format.

Pressure Performance Analysis
Began the final round of the Saudi International 2 shots behind DJ. Shot 69 to finish 3 shots behind but that included a double bogey on 16 once he had got himself a chance of winning.
Sat in 2nd, 3 shots behind Tyrrell Hatton going into the final round at the BMW Championship. Shot a 68 to finish 2nd. Played brilliantly until the 13th but Hatton was too good on the day.
Held a 2 shot 36-hole lead at the Saudi International with rounds of 65-65. Dropped to 38th place after a disastrous weekend in windy conditions where he shot 73-76.
Began the final round 5 shots behind Matthias Schwab at the Turkish Airlines Open and shot 65 to get into a six-man playoff. He was eliminated on 1st playoff hole by a birdie.
Co-led after 18 holes and 54 holes at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Shot a final round 70 to finish 1 shot ahead of Matthew Southgate and claim his first European Tour title. He held his never very well in the final holes at the Old Course.
Shot opening round of 65 at the Andalucía Masters to take a 1 shot lead after 18 holes. Played the rest of the week in 74-74-74 to finish in 26th place.
He was very steady to claim his win at Alfred Dunhill Links and a superb final round to get into a playoff in Turkey. He did well at the 2020 BMW PGA, only losing out to a very solid Tyrrell Hatton and gave DJ a good go in Saudi. His GBC Pressure Performance Rating is set to 4 stars for now.
Victor plays well in China – second Challenge Tour win at the Foshan Open in 2018 and a 4th place finish at his WGC debut at Sheshan International in 2019. Also had 7th place at the 2018 Hainan Open. He also has a 3rd place finish in Hong Kong so loves that part of the world.
He can maintain form for consecutive weeks. In 2018 on the Challenge Tour he put a run together of 4-7-1-2-3, truly incredible form. In 2019 on the European Tour he registered three Top-5 finishes in four events. Back Victor once he catches some form.
Alfred Dunhill Links Champion in windy conditions.
Time of The Year
Three of Victor's four wins have come between September - November. He has a particularly strong record in the Autumn months.
Major and WGC Analysis
Had his first taste of major action in 2020, with a best finish of 22nd at the PGA Championship. Victor is improving all the time and is likely to challenge in future.
Note he enjoys links golf so can be expected to go well in future Open Championships, especially at the Old Course in St Andrews where he won the Alfred Dunhill Championship.
Finished 4th at the HSBC Champions in 2019 so should be respected at this level now.
Lost a star studded six-man playoff at the 2019 Turkish Airlines Open. He was eliminated on 1st playoff hole by a birdie. He also had a Challenge Tour playoff at the 2018 Foshen Open where he defeated Robert MacIntyre with a birdie on first extra hole.
Given the number and quality of entrants in the Turkey playoff, we recommend no bet in a Perez playoff due to limited evidence.
