Sam had a breakthrough 2020 as he won twice on the European Tour and broke inside the top 100 in the official world golf rankings.
Sam was born in England but moved to Orlando at the age of five. He famously beat Ian Poulter when he was 14 years old and Poulter has acted as his mentor ever since. Horsfield won the 2017 European Tour Qualifying school in 2017 and served notice of his capabilities with a couple of top 5 finishes early in 2018.
He's an undoubted talent who will likely gravitate towards the PGA Tour in future.

Pressure Performance Analysis
Sam trailed Connor Syme by a shot going into the final round at the Celtic Classic. Shot a 67 to win by two shots. No bogeys and very impressive final round.
Leading by a stroke at the Hero Open, Sam shot a final round 68, including a birdie at the last, to win by one shot.
Trailed Renato Paratore by 4 shots at the British Masters with 18 holes remaining. Shot a disappointing final round 73 (2nd worst of anyone in the top 20).
Sam performed very well for both his wins. The fact he didn't record a single bogey over his final 36 holes at the Celtic Classic is testament to how impressive he was. His Golf Betting Club Pressure Performance Rating is set at 4 stars.
Between 2018 - 2020, Sam had seven top 7 finishes. Five of those finishes came after a missed cut and one of those came after a finish of 61st. Don't be put off backing Sam if he appears out of form but the test suits.
Major and WGC Analysis
Sam will need to gain much more experience of Majors before we can consider him.
Not played WGC yet.
Sam has yet to be in a playoff.
2020 Celtic Classic
"I never really felt nervous or felt uncomfortable, maybe because I was in this situation a few weeks ago. After I missed the cut last week I was never concerned. I felt like after your first win and everything that was going on I felt a little mentally drained and I probably should have decided to take the week off. I just wasn’t all there but I knew my game was in good shape so I basically just forgot about last week."
