Sam had an explosive 2021 where he climbed from 154th to 12th in the World Rankings, the rise being propelled by his first two PGA Tour titles - The Valspar Championship and Sanderson Farms. Two Runner up finishes and two 3rd places backed up his consistency and he was easily one of the most improved players on tour.

He has continued his ascent in 2022 with wins at Valspar and the Charles Schwab Challenge.
