The ten previous editions of the Sanderson Farms Championship have been won with scores ranging between -16 and -22.
Course Form
Of the last nine winners, only Luke List (2023), Sam Burns (2021) and Sebastian Munoz (2019) had anything remotely resembling previous course form. Prior to Luke List and Mackenzie Hughes winning, Munoz was the only winner to have made the cut in the year prior, having placed 50th in 2018. Five of the ten winners have been course debutants.
Recent Form
Seven of the last ten champions had recorded at least one top 25 finish in their previous two starts. Look to those players who played well at the Procore Championship a few weeks ago.
Previous PGA Tour Winners
Six of the last ten winners have been first time winners on the PGA Tour. Given we've had winners such as Peter Malnati and Cody Gribble in recent times, it's definitely an event to consider outsiders.

Four of the last ten champions had only just graduated to the PGA Tour from the Korn Ferry Tour. Note - there were no Korn Ferry Tour graduates in 2020 due to Covid.

Driving
Five of the past eight winners ranked inside the top 10 for Strokes Gained: Off The Tee. Ryan Armour won in 2017 despite ranking 39th SG: Off The Tee.
Approach
Seven of the past eight winners has ranked inside the top 21 for Strokes Gained: Approach. Luke List was the odd one out when winning last year with a ranking of 48th in this category.
Scrambling
Neither Strokes Gained: Around the Green nor Scrambling stats give us any insight - there have been mixed results. Luke List was 6th last year though for SG: Approach.
Putting
Burns and Sergio Garcia won in 2020 and 2021 with modest putting displays but most winners here putt well. List was 7th last year in SG: Putting.

The 6th is the toughest on the front nine. On the back nine, 10 and 16 are the trickiest.

2024 Sanderson Farms Championship Round 3 Outright Market Summary
A best of the day round of 65 saw Keith Mitchell take over at the top of the leaderboard and he is now the 11/10 favourite.
That price seems a fraction short given Mitchell had a disaster final round when leading the Valspar Championship earlier this year. A final round 77 that day saw him slip from first to 17th! Mitchell's only other 54 hole lead on the PGA Tour (2021 Wells Fargo Championship) saw him fail to convert too.
A hot putter has been the key to Mitchell's rise to the top of the leaderboard, ranking second for SG: Putting over the opening three rounds. Putting isn't normally a strength of his game so it will be interesting to see if the putter remains as potent with the pressure of leading. We're not interested in the 11/10 on offer.
Although low scores are possible, the winner of this event hasn't come from too far behind in recent years. Luke List won last year when in third place through 54 holes but the four winners before him were all in the top two going into the final round. History would suggest the winner comes from either Mitchell or Beau Hossler but a nervy day for them could yet open the door for our 66/1 pre-event selection, Lucas Glover.

Skinns has been in reverse since his opening round of 60 and has lost strokes off the tee in every round, with yesterday's round particularly bad. Tarren too has been poor off the tee this week and has been reliant on his putter to score. Laird has a one shot lead over Skinns and four shot advantage over Tarren. Yesterday wasn't the best day for the Scotsman but he has been far superior tee to green and should be shorter than 7/10.

Beau Hossler has taken over as favourite following his joint best of the day round of 64. The 29 year old American is now a best price of 4/1 to win for the first time on the PGA Tour. Hossler has gained strokes with every area of his game so far this week and looks to be playing nicely. However, he hasn't always impressed when in contention and we're certainly not backing the favourite at this stage of proceedings.
The last five winners at Jackson Country Club have all been inside the top ten at halfway so those players not yet at ten or eleven under par have their work cut out to catch up.

Playoff @ 3/1 - General
Three of the last five Sanderson Farms Championships have been decided by a playoff, with the other two events decided by a solitary stroke. With a bunched leaderboard through 36 holes, a playoff is once again a possibility and the 3/1 on offer generally for small stakes is interesting.

David Skinns is the 5/1 favourite following his fast start but that isn't a price we are entertaining given the poor record of first time leaders in this event. Luke List was fourth after round one last year but the previous four winners were all outside the top 15 after the opening round and two of them were outside the top 40!
