Matt McCarty is a best price 7/4 to cap an incredible year with his first PGA Tour victory.  The 26 year old has notched three wins on the Korn Ferry Tour in his last eight starts and is looking to record a win in only his second start on the PGA Tour since his battlefield promotion.

McCarty led four times on the KFT this season, converting two of those. He certainly has plenty of confidence in his game at the moment and his stats back that up.  He is gaining strokes with every area of his game through the opening three rounds and ranks 8th SG: Tee to Green. 

It was perhaps telling that McCarty referenced the other factors a win on the PGA Tour would bring in comparison to winning on the Korn Ferry Tour. McCarty was quoted after his third round as saying, "all the stuff that kind of comes on the other side of a win out here, of having the exemption for a couple years, getting in the Masters, stuff like that. It's hard not to think about those things."  If the leader can quell those early nerves he will be difficult to beat.

Several players were unable to complete their second round due to darkness but conditions were excellent once again, with no breeze in the morning and a moderate breeze in the afternoon.

2024 Black Desert Championship Round 3 Outright Market Summary

Stephan Jaeger is 7/2 favourite now, closely followed by 4/1 Matt McCarty. Jaeger is two in front but we should expect McCarty to finish at least 13 under given he has two par fives left to play today. Jaeger won earlier this year when tied for the lead after 54 holes whilst McCarty has won three times this year on the KFT, so we shouldn't expect either to back down. With that said, we have seen volatile scoring from this course with any stray shots into the desert being punished, so it is likely we see a couple of players spring from the pack at eight and nine under to challenge.

2024 Black Desert Championship Round 2 Outright Market Summary

Adam Svensson is a best price of 7/2 after opening up a two shot lead over Henrik Norlander and Matt McCarty. Svensson 

We saw a similar situation last week with David Skinns shooting an opening round of 60 and being cut to 5/1.  We suggested opposing Skinns given the low scores possible and Svensson also looks to be one to be taken on for similar reasons.  Although a new event, we saw a range of scores in round one and leading from start to finish could well prove to be a tall task.  Svensson doesn't have the greatest record when getting off to a hot start (six of the last eight occasions he has been inside the top 8 after round one he has failed to finish in the top 30) and 7/2 is short.

Erik Van Rooyen to beat Patrick Rodgers (Mythical 2 ball) - 9/10 @ Bet Victor
Rodgers lost almost two strokes tee to green yesterday and relied on his putter to get him round in three under par.  In contrast, Van Rooyen was in much better shape tee to green, gaining almost two strokes.  Van Rooyen triumphed on a desert layout this time last year in Mexico and is fancied to get the better of Rodgers in round two.
