2023 European Masters Trends
Winning score
Since 2001 has ranged from -13 to -20. Last year was -18.
Winning Profile
We have plenty of repeat winners here: Fitzpatrick (2017 and 2018), Bjorn (2011 and 2013) and Noren (2009 and 2016). Soderberg was ranked 287th before his win in 2019 but the majority of recent winners have been of a high European Tour calibre. 2022 winner Thriston Lawrence had won earlier in the season in South Africa.
Recent Form
The last four winners had a top 10 in their previous start. It may pay to back an in form player this week.
Course Form
The last three winners, Thriston Lawrence, Rasmus Hojgaard and Sebastian Soderberg, won on their debuts but the four winners prior had two top 10's at Crans previously. Due to it's unique nature, look for some sort of course form this week.

2023 European Masters In-Play Advice
Tough Holes
The 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th were among the six hardest holes on the course last year. Do keep this in mind if betting in-play.
Birdie Holes
The three par 5's and the driveable par 4 7th played easiest in 2022.
Fast or Slow Start
Catch up is possible here although Lawrence and Wallace were up with the pace after every round on route to a playoff in 2022 .
Only two winners in the past six years has been inside the top 12 after the opening round. Three of the last six winners have been outside the top 30 after round one.
The last six winners have all been inside the top 15 after round two. Rasmus Hojgaard was the first winner in the last six years to have won from a position outside the top 10 after three rounds.

2023 Omega European Masters Round 3 Summary
Favourite Matt Fitzpatrick held onto his lead despite a double bogey on the 13th hole. Fast finishes by Connor Syme and Ryder Cup hopefulls Ludvig Aberg and Nicolai Hojgaard means we're set up nicely for an exciting final round with six players within three shots of the lead.
2023 Omega European Masters Round 2 Weather
Sunny. Wind 5-10mph.
Back or Lay The Favourite?
Fitzpatrick is a shade over evens and it would take a brave person to lay him. Despit being some way off his best today, he still managed to carve out a 67 and anything similar tomorrow will make it tough for the chasing pack. Aberg is deemed his biggest threat but he will be playing with a lot of pressure tomorrow as he seeks to clinch that Rydr Cup spot. The same can be said of Alexander Bjork and Nicolai Hojgaard, whilst Connor Syme has struggled to close in the last few seasons. Brother Alex Fitzpatrick in one who could take him on if he gets off to a hot start but his game looked ragged tee to green today.
In-Play Omega European Masters Bets We Considered
With the pressure mentioned above for the Ryder Cup contenders, we considered Kalle Samooja in the top continental market at 18/1, which of course takes Matt Fitzpatrick out of the equation. However, his tee to green stats haven't quite been what might be needed to topple those ahead of him.

2023 Omega European Masters Round 2 Summary
Favourite Matt Fitzpatrick got off to a flying start, playing his first nine holes in 5 under par, but couldn't get any lower after a level par second nine. It was enough to lead by one over Alexander Bjork after Adrian Meronk made double bogey one the last to drop back to nine under par.
2023 Omega European Masters Round 2 Weather
Sunny. Wind 4-8mph.
Back or Lay The Favourite?
Matt Fitzpatrick has shortened from 3/1 to 6/4 and that looks a less appealing price than it did yesterday. The leaderboard has strengthened with the addition of Alex Bjork, Adrian Meronk and Romain Langasque, whilst his brother Alex Fitzpatrick remains a big danger.
In-Play Omega European Masters Bets We Considered
The last six winners have all been inside the top 15 after round two. and with the strength of the top of the leaderboard, it's unlikely to see that changing this year. With only three places available, and not much value to be had on the most likely winner Matt Fitzpatrick, the outright market looks best left alone.

2023 Omega European Masters Round 1 Summary
Perfect scoring conditions led to low scores, with six players shooting 63 to share the lead on 7 under par. There was no significant draw bias with three of the leaders coming from each wave. Favourite Matt Fitzpatrick was one of those and is the man to beat.
2023 Omega European Masters Round 2 Weather
Sunny. Wind 5-10mph.
Back or Lay The Favourite?
Matt Fitzpatrick has shortened from 8/1 to 3/1 and it's a price we would consider backing. He could have easily been a few shots lower today and his course management looks exceptional. A two time winner on this course, he showed how comfortable he feels here and we could easily envisage him having a large lead heading into Sunday's final round.
In-Play Omega European Masters Bets We Considered
With our liking for the favourite, any outright bets should be approached with caution. It's his brother, Alex Fitzpatrick, who we were most tempted by at the front of the market, 25/1 looks more than fair for a man who is one of the few who will believe he can beat Matt over the weekend. We will likely scour the market further down for each way value though.
